The Lord's Day

Dear brothers and sisters,

Today we had a blessed day!!!
In the morning, we ate breakfast and did our devotions, and spent time praying together. We prayed for God to work mightily through His Word and also for God to work at our Church Family back at home.

The service at Grace Life Church started at 10:00-ish. Our worship was very lively and exciting as our brothers and sisters introduced us to the African style of music. I had the privilege to play along with the band and lead "How great is our God." They also did songs in the Swahili language.
Pastor Rick preached a powerful message from 1 Corinthians 3:10-17. The sermon was about the exaltation of Jesus Christ as the only foundation for the Church. Christ is the Building Inspector and everyone must be careful how he build on the foundation. Pastor exalted Jesus Christ and preached the gospel in a very clear way. The Church was very responsive through out the message.
Here is Pastor Rick proclaiming the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!!!

After the message, Pastor Situma gave an invitation to come and repent, and praise the Lord 5 ladies came to the front to pray. I had the privilege to lead them in prayer of repentance and faith in Christ. Also, according to Pastor Situma this was their first time visiting their Church. We should always rejoice and be grateful for the power of the Gospel to change lives.

After Church we went to a vegetarian restaurant with Pastor Situma and his wife Sarah and their son Dwight. We had a great time together.

In the evening, we went to a banquet for the opening of the Grace Life Bible College. There were gathered many church pastors, dignitaries and church leaders. Pastor Rick did a great job sharing from the Word of God. He encouraged the leaders to stand firm on the Word of God and according to the book of Jude there are three most common ways that Scripture is perverted - following the examples of Cain who disregarded the Word by doing things his own way, Balaam who dodged God’s Word in order to personally profit, and Korah who defamed God’s Word by claiming that anyone can assert the truth. He then appealed to the college’s theme verse from 2 Timothy 2:15 about avoiding shame by rightly dividing the Word of God. He did this all in 11 min./35 sec - well within the 15 minutes he was given!

To God be the glory!!!

Serving by the grace of God,
Paul and Rick
